A retired engineer came along to one of the galleries I’m with and asked if a les Paul style guitar sculpture could be made with his old tools incorporated into it.
Obviously the answer was yes and to my surprise they were all SNAP-ON
It was a pleasure to make this retirement present to himself, for him. Linking his love of music and memories of a great working life.
One of my first commissions.
This strat is the same style as the guitar played by the person who commissioned it, I was asked if I could include his favorite drink an old watch and the woody woodpecker badge, as these were all linked in some way and part of fond memories.
commissioned by a gas fitter/plumber
I tried to fit in as many plumbing items as i could into this one,
Again a piece to celebrate the love music and success in building a business
This piece went to Germany.
So far the only Bass guitar I have made, I was given the make and model of this one and asked if it could be made in the style of one they had seen in the gallery.
Made for a gentleman who had purchased one of my violins,
He contacted me wanting a Fender but with the same elements as the violin to add to his collection.
A les Paul that was commissioned by a father for his son and he wanted it to include some personal items and special sentiments that he sent me all the way from Canada
His son was in a band and also a member of the local fire department, fitted into the headstock is the challenge coin from the fire department he works for and the bands CD was incorporated into the guitar body. The special sentiments were added and a horse shoe mounting bracket supplied as requested.
Two family’s became one.
A gift from a bride to a groom, I was asked to add in a few personal items on this one, one of their favorite songs in the form of a 7” vinyl , the grooms favorite drink and the names of their new family to be added all over the guitar.
I put the grooms name at the headstock as he is the head of the family but the bride got the switch as she is really the one in control, the kids were as usual all over the place.
